Saree Studio ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use the EX mobile application (the "App"). Please read this policy carefully. By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information You Provide:
- Account Information: If you create an account, we collect your display name and email address.
- Voice Recordings: When you use voice conversion, we temporarily process your audio recording to transcribe and understand your currency conversion request. Audio recordings are deleted immediately after processing and are never stored permanently.
- Photos (Scanner Feature): If you use the receipt/bill scanner, we temporarily process the photo to extract price information. Photos are deleted immediately after processing.
- Profile Information: Optional display name, avatar, and language preference.
1.2 Automatically Collected Information:
- Device Information: Device type, operating system version, and unique device identifiers.
- Usage Data: App usage statistics, feature usage frequency, and conversion counts (used solely to enforce usage limits per account tier).
- IP Address: Used to prevent abuse of the free guest usage limit (rate limiting only). Not stored permanently.
What We Do NOT Collect:
- We do NOT collect your location data
- We do NOT collect your contacts
- We do NOT collect your browsing history
- We do NOT collect financial account or banking information
- We do NOT store your voice recordings or photos permanently
- We do NOT sell your personal data to any third party
2. How We Use Your Information
- To provide and maintain the currency conversion service
- To process voice commands and receipt/bill scanning
- To sync your profile and favorites across devices (if you have an account)
- To manage your subscription and enforce usage limits per account tier
- To improve app performance, fix bugs, and enhance user experience
- To enforce our Terms of Service and prevent abuse
3. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services to operate the App. Each service processes only the minimum data required for its function:
- OpenAI: Voice recordings are sent to OpenAI's Whisper API for transcription, and text is processed by OpenAI's language models for understanding conversion requests and powering the receipt scanner. Audio and image data sent to OpenAI is processed in real-time and is not stored or used for training by OpenAI when using the API. OpenAI's Privacy Policy applies.
- Supabase: Cloud database and authentication service for storing account data and usage information for logged-in users. Data is encrypted at rest and in transit. Supabase's Privacy Policy applies.
- TwelveData: Third-party provider for live forex exchange rates. No personal data is shared with this service — only API requests for market data.
- RevenueCat: In-app subscription and purchase management platform. RevenueCat processes your purchase information and subscription status to manage your Pro subscription. RevenueCat receives your app user ID and purchase events. No payment card details are accessible to us or RevenueCat — payments are processed by Apple or Google. RevenueCat's Privacy Policy applies.
- Apple App Store / Google Play Store: For processing subscription payments. We do not have access to your payment card details. Their respective privacy policies apply.
4. Data Storage and Security
- Account data is stored in Supabase with encryption at rest and in transit (TLS/SSL).
- Guest users' data is stored locally on the device only and is never sent to our servers.
- Voice recordings and photos are transmitted using HTTPS encryption and deleted immediately after processing.
- We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including row-level security (RLS) in our database.
- No security system is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security of your data.
5. Data Retention
- Voice Recordings: Deleted immediately after transcription (within seconds). Never stored on our servers.
- Scanner Photos: Deleted immediately after processing (within seconds). Never stored on our servers.
- Account Data: Retained until you delete your account.
- Usage Statistics: Weekly usage counters reset automatically. Guest usage counters are stored locally on-device only.
6. Your Rights
You have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Access: You can view your profile and favorites within the App.
- Export: You can request a data export by contacting us.
- Correction: You can update your profile information at any time in the App's Settings.
- Deletion: You can request complete account deletion by using the "Delete Account" option in Settings or by contacting us at support@saree.to.
- Portability: You can request your data at any time.
7. GDPR Compliance (European Users)
If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), you have additional rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR):
- Legal Basis: We process your data based on your consent (voice recording, scanner), contract performance (providing the service you subscribed to), and legitimate interests (improving the app, preventing abuse).
- Right to Object: You can object to the processing of your personal data.
- Right to Restriction: You can request we limit how we use your data.
- Right to Erasure: You can request complete deletion of your personal data.
- Data Protection Authority: You have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
- Data Transfers: Your data may be transferred to and processed on servers outside the EEA (including the United States). We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place, including Standard Contractual Clauses where applicable.
8. CCPA Compliance (California Users)
If you are a California resident, you have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA):
- Right to Know: You can request details about the personal information we collect and how we use it.
- Right to Delete: You can request deletion of your personal information.
- Right to Non-Discrimination: We will not discriminate against you for exercising your privacy rights.
- No Sale of Data: We do NOT sell your personal information to any third party.
9. Children's Privacy
The App is not intended for children under the age of 13 (or 16 in the EEA). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us at support@saree.to and we will delete it promptly.
10. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
